We provide public education sessions on a wide range of topics including: sexual assault, trauma informed practice, relationship violence, healthy relationships, boundaries and sexual relationships, and the meaning of consent. Project Coordinator for Take Back The Night 2021

The PEI Rape and Sexual Assault Centre is seeking proposals to coordinate a project to raise awareness, support survivors, and bring attention to the work needed to end sexual assault, dating violence, sexual abuse, and all other forms of sexualized violence over Sexual Assault Awareness Week (September 20-24) and culminating in the Take Back the Night 2021 event.

INDIGENOUS THERAPIST (.8 FTE = 30 hours per week)

Term: 3-year contract

Salary Range: $52,000-58,000

PEIRSAC is seeking an individual with a Master’s degree in social work, counselling psychology, or similar, with current good standing with a PEI professional regulator. The ideal incumbent will have at least three years of trauma-focused counselling with Indigenous (preferably Mi’kmaq) clients, and therefore knows the history and traumatic intergenerational impacts of colonization, including (but not limited to) residential schools, the sixties scoop, and murdered and missing Indigenous women and girls. The incumbent must be able to demonstrate how they work from a therapeutic approach that is decolonizing, intersectionally feminist, strengths-based, person-centred, non-pathologizing, and tailored to each person’s individual context, e.g. racialized and gendered experiences, socio- economic class, dis/ability, sexual/affectional orientation, spiritual and cultural worldview.
